My mother's favorite flower is the orchid. She recently moved and trusted me with her orchid plant. When she gave it to me it had two growing buds on it. Today, one of them started blooming so I thought I would take a picture of it to let my mom know her baby is doing just fine.

This is gorgeous! I love it. I have become totally drawn to flower pictures lately and this is another. Maybe it's the beauty of it with a shallow dof.
